The project implemented by Engineering 2K in Bologna for NaturaSì took was divided into two phases: initial construction and successive expansion, both aimed at creating a highly functional logistics area.
Initial construction (2015-2016) The first phase of the project provided for the construction of a spacious deposit with an overall area of 36,314 m², with 3,643 m² for office use. One particularly significant architectural aspect was the decision to focus on height with a view to optimise space. The deposit has been designed to manage specific spaces for dry products, fruits and vegetables, dairy produce and cosmetics, with storage subdivided by temperature class (2-4°C, 8°C, 12°C and room temperature). The structure has been designed to house 96 electro-hydraulic platforms and fluid logistic management, integrating both manual and automated activities. The automated system forms the backbone of the warehouse, with a voice picking system that renders daily operations more efficient. In addition, a system has been installed that uses recovered warm air generated by the refrigeration system to heat the deposit, reducing exposure of operators to low temperatures. Works began in December 2015 and were completed in December 2016, involving the participation of 65 companies and a daily average of 60 workers, successfully respecting the timing and standards requested by the client.
Expansion (2020) 2020 saw expansion works for 9,267 m², as well as an increase to office space through the addition of 2 operational units of 214 m², including a sprinkler safety system. Lastly, the provision of 11 car parking spaces and 10 equipped loading bays (8 for trailers and 2 for vans) have facilitated access to the building.
